Title: La historia de buscare : de tecnicismo lignario en Centroeuropa a tecnicismo venatorio en Hispania
Author: Anguita Jaén, José María
Abstract: French, English, Italian and Swiss documents in Latin dating from the 9th to the 15th century include the verb boscare/buscare with the technical meaning of « to cut and collect firewood ». Since their beginnings (12th century), the Romance languages from the western regions of the Iberian peninsula (Castillian, Galician-Portuguese) have included a verb with the same formal appearance but very different semantics. However, the semantics of buscar bears a nuance that relates the verb also to the forest, although in this case not with firewood, but with hunting.
