dc.description The spatio-temporal structure of wave breaking and the surrounding flow induced by uniform stratified flow over two-dimensional and quasi two-dimensional obstacles was studied in hydraulic channels in different configurations via PIV measurements, Hovmoeller diagrams and spatial correlations. The results reveal low frequency variations throughout the flow field, in and outside the wave-breaking region, which appears to be due to a sequence of growth and decay of wave-breaking. -
