The hypothesis of an emersion episode during the process of filling of a bay in the Bascharage district during the Lower Toarcian was recently proposed. Unhappily, it is based on very incomplete data, and thus reveals erroneous, facing to many easily available observations and the conclusions from various disciplines and authors, ignored by the promoters of the near emersion hypothesis. We propose a wider overview of the subject, with a historical approach of the geology and palaeontology of the Luxembourg Lower Toarcian, and a more complete presentation of the available literature Die Behauptung von einer fast Auftauchung von dem Luxemburg Bascharage Gebiet in das Unter Toarcium wurde neulich hervorruft.
