Title Strategy and market structure : competition, oligopoly, and the theory of games
Author SHUBIK, Martin
Abstract Offers a unified approach to the various theories of competition and markets, using the techniques of game theory. It bridges the gap between the economic theory of the firm, the approach of institutional economists, and the viewpoints of business and law to oligopolistic markets. Emphasis is placed on the general properties of strategic interdependence in economic markets. A step in the development of a dynamic theory of markets, the book develops a theory which is general and abstract, yet is directly amenable to use in empirical work on market forms.
