Historique du Programme mondial de recherche sur le climat

Abstract

Le Programme mondial de recherche sur le climat (PMRC) a été créé en 1979 sous l'égide de l'Organisation météorologique mondiale (OMM), du Conseil international pour la science (CIUS) et du Programme des Nations unies pour l'environnement (PNUE). Il est venu dans la continuité de programmes précédents, concourant à l'observation du climat et à la modélisation de l'atmosphère. Il a puissamment contribué, et contribue encore, à l'amélioration de nos connaissances et à notre compréhension du climat et de ses modifications.

The World Climate Research Program (WCRP) was created in 1979, under the aegis of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). It brought together programs working on observing the climate and modelling the atmosphere. It has powerfully contributed, to the improvement of our knowledge and understanding of climate and its modifications and continues to do so.
